We turn Green for Blue Monday!

Posted in Announcements

The Iconic Grade II listed Ramada Resort Park Hall Hotel in Wolverhampton has turned green this Blue Monday, as part of a region-wide-campaign to raise awareness around mental health.

The hotel and spa based on Park Drive also used the occasion to launch its contribution to the Chatty Café campaign, which is an initiative led by Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street. Each Chatty Café acts as a dedicated area where people can meet and talk to others if they are feeling alone or isolated.

Regular events and lighting supplier, Paul James Promotions transformed the front of the hotel with green spotlights as part of the Blue Monday campaign.

Said to be the most depressing day of the year, due to poor weather and post-Christmas blues Blue Monday falls on the third Monday in January (20th).

Led by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) with support from the Ramada Resort Park Hall Hotel, Library of Birmingham and Dudley Council the turn green for Blue Monday campaign aims to raise awareness of mental health and the support that is available.

Dion Fanthom, digital marketing executive at the Ramada Resort Park Hall Hotel and member of the West Midlands Young Combined Authority Board with a focus on mental health, said: “Mental health is still seen as taboo within our society even though at least one in four of us will experience a mental health problem each year. The more that can be done to raise awareness about this issue and the support available the better.

“By turning the hotel green on a day like Blue Monday we’re hoping to encourage more people to take the time to invest in themselves and their own wellbeing. We have launched our Chatty Café to encourage people to take some time out away from daily life and come and talk to each other – whether that’s with existing friends or meeting new friends and hopefully the local community and even our staff will benefit from this.”

The grade II listed hotel has 74 luxury bedrooms, an onsite health club and spa, two-onsite restaurants, including the authentic Indian fine dining restaurant, Anju’s as well as 5 acres of landscaped gardens.

Hospitality Business of the Year Awarded to Ramada Park Hall Hotel and Spa

The Ramada Park Hall Hotel and Spa in Wolverhampton has won the Hospitality Business of the Year award at the Nachural Awards, beating several competitors to a highly desired title in the British hospitality industry.

The Nachural Awards recognises the achievements of businesses and entrepreneurs from across the West Midlands. It covers a range of sectors, but hospitality is certainly one of the most notable, and the Business of the Year award is highly coveted.

Held at the Wolverhampton Racecourse on Friday 29th June 2018, the awards were attended by over 500 highly talented UK businesspeople and ended with a spectacular evening of entertainment and a banquet featuring the finest Indian cuisine.

2018 Nachural Awards

A grade II listed Georgian mansion

The Ramada Park Hall Hotel and Spa is a refreshing mix of old and new and sits in one of the most beautiful parts of the West Midlands. A grade II listed Georgian mansion, the hotel has become very popular with leisure guests, business travellers and overseas holidaymakers.

When choosing their winners, the Nachural Awards judges look for strong business performance, but also companies that display flair, fabulous customer experiences and a unique take on traditional services. The Ramada Park Hall Hotel and Spa immediately caught the judge’s eye due to the way in which it has managed to marry the traditional, lavish mansion-style hotel experience with contemporary design, excellent guest services and stunning on-site dining.

Perhaps most impressive about the award is the fact it isn’t just for the Ramada Park’s wonderful accommodation offering, but also their fabulous indian restaurant, Anju’s. If you’re looking for the best curry in Wolverhampton, you might not expect to find it at a hotel of this kind, but deep within Ramada Park can be found a dining experience that reflects the amazing culinary diversity of India.

By using local and sustainable ingredients, the team at Anju’s has made something of a name for itself. They mix traditional and contemporary Indian cooking and an impeccable service to create a dining experience that simply can’t be found anywhere else.

The far-reaching, eclectic menu satisfies every taste and dietary requirement, and the regular influx of new dishes means there’ll always be something new to try if you become one of the many regular diners.

The judges at the Nachural Awards were particularly impressed with the food on offer at the Ramada Park, which is also a very popular West Midlands wedding venue.

74 Luxury bedroom hotel

The hotel itself consists of 74 luxury hotel bedrooms, each with an en-suite and a choice of a large family room, executive double, twins and The Avondale Suite. The sheer size of the property means large groups can be catered for comfortably, and the hotel team his just as happy welcoming large business bookings as they are wedding guests.

“We’re delighted to have received the Hospitality Business of the Year Award at this year’s Nachural Awards,” said Angela Bir. “It’s recognition of the huge amount of effort and hard work put in by the team here, and the award goes to every single person that works for the hotel; we couldn’t have done it without them.”

Business, leisure and wedding guests certainly aren’t short of accommodation choices when heading to the West Midlands, but the Ramada Park’s fabulously convenient location and incredible views of the leafy surroundings make it the obvious choice. Running a hotel in the modern world is incredibly challenging, but the award is recognition of the fact that, if accommodation businesses are willing to be inventive, focus on the guest experience and deliver a knock-out dining experience, they’ll put themselves ahead of the competition.

“We knew the award would be tough to get because there are so many other wonderful businesses in the region,” explained Angela. “But we also knew that the combination of luxury accommodation, an unbeatable wedding and conference venue and the incredible food produced by the team in Anju’s made us stand out. We’ve worked hard for many, many years to make The Ramada Park Hall Hotel and Spa a place people want to come back to time and time again, and this award is the best possible recognition for what we’ve achieved so far.”

Further £250k Investment for New Bar and Reception

Posted in Announcements

The Ramada Park Hall Hotel and Spa, which is nestled on the outskirts of Wolverhampton, overlooking the delightful Staffordshire countryside, has already had over £5 million invested in to it during the last 5 years since the current owners took over. There are further plans for investment and the push to move from a 4* rating to 4* plus.

Already boasting 2 restaurants, a health club & spa and extensively improved rooms, grounds and amenities, the new addition, to be called the Mirrors Bar, will see the entrance and ground floor transformed into a relaxed drinking and dining area with the hope of making surroundings more comfortable for in-house guests whilst attracting a new range of customers from the region and create a destination type bar.

Alongside the structural and interior work, the reception and new bar renovation will see collaborations with local suppliers, brewers and artists and also create a number of new jobs. The work will see a new bar area, complete with custom fit bar, new seating areas and improved navigation around the hotel lobby included as well as elements such as new fireplaces and dining facilities.

Angela Bir, who took over the hotel with her partner in 2011, said of the investment, “When we first took over the hotel there was a lot of renovation and refurbishment work to do which we have achieved to a high standard, however customer expectations and demand are forever changing in the marketplace, which is why our customer centric approach focuses on satisfying our customers’ needs. This is clearly reinforced by the addition of our new bar and reception area, creating a much improved food and drink offering in brand new surroundings”

She added, “Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas are undergoing major investment and I am very happy to be able to be part of this. Since the start of the investment our occupancy rates have increased as have the number of weddings and conferences that we host which proves that the demand is there for a quality offering. I will always be looking to invest and improve our local community whilst bringing in guests from across the region.

The works on the new bar will take 3 weeks and will be finished on the 19th November with no adverse affects on the current hotel operations.
